So every year at about this time I like to get as many people as I can to come watch a Eugene Generals hockey game with me to celebrate my birthday. This year will be a bit more special, I requested and was then asked to sing the Nation Anthem for the game.

Go ahead, read it again. I didn't believe it either.

So, will you please join me in watching some awesome hockey, celebrate my 35th birthday and give me some moral support (because I'll be nervous as hell) at Lane County Ice (at the fairgrounds) on February 10 at 7:30pm (Friday)?

Went to the arcade list night with Alex and BennyB. It is now HUGELY expanded. They've got a lot more room and an TON more machines. I was supposed to call Caleb but I forgot :(

How'd it go?

Frankly, I'd never get up and sing in front of people. It's not the crowd (I lecture for a living), it's my complete and utter lack of singing ability. I feel as though notes and melody are more along the lines of ...a general guideline...rather than something to be rigidly adhered to.

Well, it went poorly. Ampflication + excitement = a pretty lousy rendition. Honestly I'm more than a bit disappointed in my performance, especially because i had been practicing for two weeks and I was doing it pretty well. That said, I did it and I had a good number of friends show up to support my efforts. That counts for something. It was a great game and going to the arcade afterwards was fun . I had a good time.
